So last night nine of us headed to the DBS arts centre somewhere around Clarke quay to catch Macbeth by the Stage Club and.. I wouldn't say it was fantastic, it was just average. On our way there however, there was a unfortunate shoe malfunction as Pao broke her shoe while attempting to find a bin for the ice cream cup! which was not hers. Ha! so when she called to break the news to us, Abi and I started running towards the escalator while abi was yelling, " Pao we're coming to save you!" and we ended up standing around waiting for her mom who was going to bring along another pair of shoes as she was around the vicinity. SO. The audience comprised of mainly students; most of which were just TOO annoying. Laughing at most inappropriately at the most solemn scenes like the murder of young Duff and the murder of young Siward. AND they seemed to find the dude who played Malcom SOOOOOOO good looking that that during the Q&A, one of them shouted out
" CAN I MARRY YOU??!"
and another yelled
" WHY IS HE SO CUTE??!!"
I feel so sorry for them. Their desperation has reached its peak that the mere sight of a male individual has driven them into undeniable hysteria.
And then there was Ethel and Maxine. ha! Not understanding anything that was going on due to geography being their forte, they concluded that Macbeth murdered Duncan out of jealousy and that they could feel the wind coming from the stage which signalled an approaching hurricane. HA! There was one thing that got them excited though. The one scene where the witches brewed their evil concoction to fool Macbeth, this like.. ROCK came rolling out. Hilariously, it was the CAULDRON, which seemed to have some from of mechanism within which spat white fumes out every few seconds. too funny.
Following the play, Abi, pao and I split from the group of nine and we hitched a ride from Abi's mom back to tamp at about... 10:30pm for food at starbucks. Had food and coffee and left at about... eleven-ish. Was beat.
AND.
Now I'm off to do Chinese. DARN.
Noughts all spent, where our desire is got without content.
'Tis safer to be that which we destroy,
than by destruction dwell in doubtful joy.
That. Was so totally boss. ;
